The Creative Belgium Metalverse

On 2 June 2023 Creative Belgium celebrated the most creative brands, striking campaigns and original ideas generated in 2022. And as of last year all the winners will get eternal fame with their own sustainable NFT.

An NFT award is a digitally and publicly available ‘proof of merit’, which will remain in existence forever. By converting our awards into NFTs we have created a digital, indestructible identity for all the winners linked to a winning campaign.

WHAT IS AN NFT?

An NFT is a digital record of ownership. It’s unique, can’t be copied and once an NFT is deployed on the blockchain it will live on forever. 

WHAT IS BLOCKCHAIN?

Blockchain is technology that enables digital ownership. It’s a database that is maintained by its users instead of one central entity controlling and owning the data. 

WILL THE NFT AWARDS ISSUED BY CREATIVE BELGIUM BE BAD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT? 

There are multiple blockchains, each with their own characteristics. Some require lots of energy, others’ energy consumption can be compared to sending an email or posting an image on instagram. The CB NFTs will be minted on the Polygon blockchain which has become Carbon Neutral as of 2022.

WHAT IS A WALLET?

Your digital wallet is the place where you see all of your NFTs, cryptocurrencies and transaction history. After the show, the winners can claim their NFTs and the NFTs will be sent to their wallets.

WHY AWARDS AS NFTS?

Turning CB awards into NFTs will create a digital and publicly available proof of merit that will exist forever (NFTs can’t be destroyed). As our digital identity and presence become more and more important it is crucial to have ownership over your identity, profile, track record of skills and awards. You want to have a digital portfolio and track record that you own and that is impossible to cheat. As a true OG, Creative Belgium wants to be at the forefront of the meritverse and allow its members to become part of the ownership generation as well.

CAN ANYONE CLAIM THE CB AWARD NFT?

No, only the winners in the credits will be able to claim their NFT.

WHEN WILL THE NFTS BE REVEALED?

On the 3rd of June, right after the awards ceremony

HOW CAN WINNERS CLAIM THEIR NFT?

By filling out the claim form. After completion the NFTs will be sent to each of the winners’ wallets. However the NFTs can also remain in OG Studio’s custody, if preferred by the winner.
