Covid altered every aspect of life and reshaped our work culture: from how we work, how to produce our work, how we communicate, to how we relate to one another. “Studio practice” that used to define a design organization’s culture has largely dissolved in the age of Covid, but the office and its artifacts have remained. This lecture is a reflection on the seemingly mundane office objects — design tools — and the work.

ABOUT NATASHA JEN

Natasha Jen is an award-winning designer, educator, and a partner at Pentagram. She joined Pentagram’s New York office in 2012. In 2014 she was acclaimed by Wired Magazine as one of nine Designers Who Matter.

Natasha’s work is recognized for its innovative use of graphic, digital, and spatial interventions that challenge conventional notions of media and cultural contexts. Her work is immediately recognizable, encompassing brand identity systems, digital interfaces, multi-media exhibitions, way-finding systems, and architecture.

 

ABOUT LIZA ENEBEIS

Cooking with motion: a glimpse into the kitchen of Studio Dumbar from experiment to reality.

Liza is Partner and Creative Director at Studio Dumbar. Studio Dumbar (part of Dept) is an award-winning international agency with a Dutch heritage, specialising in visual branding and motion. Liza is directly involved with all main projects. Before joining Studio Dumbar she worked for Pentagram London for several years.

Liza is cofounder and host of Typeradio.org the podcast station on type and design. As of 2018 she has been elected member into the prestigious design association AGI, Alliance Graphique Internationale. In 2020 she was appointed as co-President of the ADCN - the Advertising and Design Club of Creativity in the Netherlands. And since 2021 is part of the D&AD Board of trustees - the Design and Advertising Association in the UK. Greek at heart, British by birth and Dutch by Design.
